At the school we met children who didn't look anything like the children in my school. They were not wearing shoes and their clothes were old and dirty. They did not have money for school items and play equipment.
We were visiting the school because we wanted to provide objects that these students needed but did not have because it was a very poor village and money was scarce. We brought clean sanitary necessities such as toothbrushes and toothpaste and soap and play items like balls and jump ropes. We learned a Lao song about washing your hands that started "Lamoo Lamoo Sai Saboo". I still remember it.
After our visit, I felt very appreciative about all the school things that I have at CDNIS. When I saw the children's happy faces, I felt that we had made a difference with such small things. It also made me realise that books are important and if schools don't have books, it would be nearly impossible to learn.
